Tukak peptik merupakan kumpulan penyakit yang ditandai dengan adanya gangguan pada mukosa esofagus, lambung atau usus halus . Penyebab utama dari tukak peptik yaitu meningkatnya sekresi asam dan adanya gangguan keseimbangan yang disebabkan oleh agresi resistensi mukosa. Namun, obat-obatan tersebut memiliki efek samping yang cukup berat. Tanaman dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif pengobatan antitukak. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi mengenai berbagai tanaman yang memiliki aktivitas antitukak yang sudah diuji kepada model hewan. Beberapa tanaman tersebut di antaranya yaitu Averrhoa blimbi L., Gynura pseudochina L., , Phyllantus niruri L., Andrographis paniculata, dan Olea europaea. Berdasarkan aktivitas yang dimiliki, tanaman yang memiliki kandungan kimia alkaloid, terpen, terpenoid, flavonoid, saponin, asam fenolik dan tanin terbukti memiliki efek sebagai antitukak dengan berbagai variasi dosis efektif.
