Ekonomi Kapitalis vis-à-vis Koperasi:Telaah Kritis dalam Perspektif Ekonomi Profetik

This article critically examines the comparison between capitalist and cooperative economic systems from the perspective of prophetic economics, as proposed by Kuntowijoyo. Capitalism, while capable of generating economic growth, tends to create social inequality and moral crises due to its focus on profit. Conversely, cooperatives are seen as a more equitable alternative because they prioritize the principles of togetherness, member participation, and collective welfare. Through a qualitative approach and literature review, this article demonstrates that the concept of prophetic economics, grounded in the values of humanization, liberation, and transcendence, can serve as a moral foundation for assessing and strengthening the role of cooperatives as a just and sustainable economic system.
